Terms of Service
By creating an account you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. The Service
Maestrovio is a trade name of AardJay Labs LLC, a Florida limited liability company ("AardJay Labs", "we", "us"). Maestrovio provides a piano repertoire database and tools for students to track and discover pieces, and for teachers to manage students, assign repertoire, record performance events, schedule lessons, and track enrollment and tuition for their own studio. The service is available on free and paid ("Pro") tiers. We may from time to time introduce additional features, including tools that allow teachers to be discovered by prospective students or that facilitate connections between teachers and third parties such as venues or event organisers. Any such features will be subject to these Terms and any additional terms presented at the time.
2. Accounts
Students: You must be at least 13 to register as a student. If you are under 18, you confirm that your parent or legal guardian has read these Terms and consents to your use of the service. By registering, you represent that parental or guardian consent has been obtained where required.
Teachers: You must be at least 18 to register as a teacher.
You are responsible for all activity under your account and for providing accurate registration information including a valid email address. Accounts are personal and may not be shared or transferred.
3. Teacher–Student Relationships
Teachers may invite students to connect, or add a student to their own roster using only a name — no Maestrovio account is required for a teacher to schedule lessons or track tuition for that person. A connection with portal access is only established when the student accepts an invitation. Once connected, a teacher can view a student's library and progress data, including but not limited to pieces in their library, status, notes, and ratings, and — where the student is enrolled in a lesson package — that student's scheduling data (lesson times, attendance, lesson notes) and tuition records (charges and payments). Students may remove a teacher connection at any time from their Account settings, which immediately ends that teacher's access to their live data.
When a connection ends — whether initiated by the teacher or the student — the teacher retains a read-only record of the assignments, scheduling, and tuition history they created during the relationship. This record is private to that teacher. The student no longer sees assignments from that teacher.
Teachers are responsible for ensuring that any student they invite or add to their roster — including a roster-only entry with no account — has the parental or guardian consent required by these Terms, and for the accuracy of any scheduling or tuition information they enter about that person. Maestrovio is not responsible for teacher–student relationships, the pedagogical decisions made within them, or any tuition or fee arrangement between a teacher and a student.
4. Scheduling and Tuition Tools
Maestrovio provides tools for teachers to schedule lessons, manage enrollments, and record tuition charges and payments for their own students. These tools are for the teacher's own bookkeeping and organisation.
Maestrovio is not a payment processor, is not a party to, and does not facilitate, hold, or transfer any tuition or fee payment between a teacher and a student. Any amounts, payment methods, or notes recorded in the scheduling and tuition tools are self-reported by the teacher and are not verified by us. Disputes over tuition, fees, refunds, or payment between a teacher and a student are solely between those parties.
Teachers are solely responsible for complying with any tax, business licensing, or other legal obligations arising from tuition they charge or collect.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to: use the service unlawfully; attempt unauthorised access to our systems; scrape or systematically extract data without written permission; reverse-engineer the service; or transmit spam or malware. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
6. Subscriptions and Billing
Maestrovio Pro is a recurring subscription billed through Stripe, available on monthly and annual plans. Current pricing is displayed before checkout. By subscribing you authorise recurring charges until you cancel.
Cancel any time through the Account page (Stripe customer portal). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain Pro access until then.
Refunds: Charges are non-refundable except where required by applicable law. We may issue refunds at our discretion on a case-by-case basis — contact hello@maestrovio.com if you believe your circumstances warrant one.
We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable notice to active subscribers before the change takes effect.
This section governs Maestrovio Pro subscription billing only. It does not apply to tuition between a teacher and a student — see Section 4.
7. Free Tier
Features available on the free tier are described on our pricing page. We reserve the right to adjust the features available on each tier with reasonable notice.
8. Intellectual Property
The Maestrovio name, design, and software are our property. Repertoire data is compiled from public syllabus sources. You may use it for personal, non-commercial purposes only.
9. Disclaimers — Repertoire Data and Exam Outcomes
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We strive for accuracy in our repertoire data but cannot guarantee it is free of errors. Always verify grade and syllabus requirements directly with the relevant official examining body before an exam.
Maestrovio is not affiliated with any music examining board, grading organisation, or educational institution. Use of this platform does not constitute endorsement by any examining body, and nothing on this platform should be interpreted as a guarantee or prediction of exam success or musical progress.
Maestrovio tracks the repertoire a user has studied and infers which skills those pieces may develop. This is the full extent of what the platform knows. It cannot assess performance quality, sight-reading ability, technical fluency, or readiness to sit an examination. No feature, recommendation, or progress indicator on this platform should be relied upon as a substitute for the assessment of a qualified teacher.
We do not guarantee continuous or uninterrupted access to the service. We make reasonable efforts to maintain and restore the service following outages but accept no liability for interruptions beyond our reasonable control.
Data loss: We take reasonable precautions to protect stored data but cannot guarantee that data will never be lost. We recommend that users maintain their own records of important repertoire, scheduling, and tuition history. We are not liable for any loss of data howsoever caused.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Maestrovio shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages of any kind, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of progress records, loss of earnings, loss of tuition payments or records, or any outcome related to music examinations or musical development. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms shall not exceed the amounts you paid us in the preceding 12 months, or $10 USD if you have not made any payments.
11. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from Account settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these Terms. Upon deletion, your personal data is removed as described in our Privacy Policy. Teachers who previously worked with you retain a read-only record of assignments, scheduling, and tuition history they created, identified by your name or username at the time of disconnection.
12. Governing Law
These Terms constitute an agreement between you and AardJay Labs LLC, a Florida limited liability company operating as Maestrovio. They are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. You consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Florida for any dispute arising under these Terms. If you are located outside the United States, you may have additional rights under your local laws that these Terms cannot override.
13. Changes
We will notify registered users by email of material changes to these Terms with reasonable advance notice before they take effect. Continued use of the service after that date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
